Established in 1991, the WAA is a non-profit community art organization that primarily supports the fine art of drawing and painting, catering to a population of both amateur and professional artists.
We are supported by our membership fees, donations and grants made possible through the Brunswick Arts Council, Focus Broadband, and many others. Our studio is provided by the Bellinger Arts Studio.
General Membership meetings are held at 10:30am on the third Wednesday of each month from September to May, excluding December. All are welcome!
Updated Form Coming! Dues Jan - Dec!
Join this year and your dues will be paid through December 2025!
Our organization works because of the dedication of member volunteers. Through their time, talents and background experiences, volunteers staff our Executive Board of Directors and head various committees. Below are a few of the many ways you can help. When everyone works their part for Waterway Art, then Waterway Art works better for everyone.
We look forward to having you on our team.
Manage the ongoing, year-round exhibits at the Rourk and Southwest Brunswick Branch libraries. Hanging space is free to members and sales support Friends of the Library.
The many opportunities to help with the show include selecting a venue, arranging for
music and refreshments, selecting a judge, advertising, receiving and hanging
art, supervising scholarship fundraising art raffle, greeting visitors, processing art
sales, tear down and art pick-ups.
Promote WAA activities in print media, prepare posters, brochures etc. Add events to local
on-line arts calendars, take photographs, edit Facebook and Instagram sites.
Help Webmaster maintain and update WAA site with member news, calls for artists, class
information, photos of events and the like.
Arrange bus trips, holiday parties, summer picnics, T-shirt and apron orders,
speakers and demonstrations.
Apply for grants to help fund the needs and goals of the organization. Support additional
fundraising efforts.
Solicit graduating high school seniors looking to pursue art in college to apply for our annual
scholarship.
Arrange for instructors of various subjects and media to teach demos and one-to-three day art classes throughout the year.
Partner with Brunswick Arts Council to support art activities with area school children, seniors and veterans. Participate in local community fairs.
