At WAA, our vision is to be the leading organization in our region for promoting and celebrating the arts.
We strive to create a welcoming and inclusive community that values creativity and artistic expression.
We fulfill our mission with art exhibits and shows, workshops, demonstrations, indoor and outdoor painting sessions,
as well as trips to regional art venues. By providing channels for networking and communication,
our members experience a creative environment for learning, sharing and building friendships.

Come and join our paint-ins! Every Wednesday 9:30am to 12:30pm
Our informal paint-in sessions are free for members and held every Wednesday at
Berry Community Center
Vereen Memorial Gardens
Little River, SC
Artists bring whatever projects they wish to work on and simply share the experience of painting together.

Classes and workshops taught by accomplished artists from across our region are offered monthly. Media include pastels, oil, acrylic and watercolor paints.
We have several great demos and workshops coming up!

The Waterway Art Association’s history (35 years) of artistic achievement, volunteer service, education, and community involvement!

Before Janet retired from a job in Finance, she collected original art work as a hobby. When she finally had time to take classes, she found her calling was not just to be a collector but also an artist. She’s been a member of Waterway Art for 8 years and has volunteered to be Treasurer and now President. This picture includes one of her favorite paintings by Pennsylvania artist, Jeann Krantz.

Diane has been creating art in one form or another most of her life. Once she discovered the rich buttery feel and texture of oils, she was hooked! Her still lifes have been juried into national exhibitions with Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, Salon International, and many shows in the Pittsburgh, PA area.

After moving to Little River, SC in 2022, she discovered the beauty of the marshes in the area and began trying to get out plein air painting weekly. She goes to Vereen Gardens on Thursdays as much as possible. She is happy to find a great group of artists in the Waterway Art League.
